The Glorious Grand Canyon and Desert Botanical Garden

Last week I had spring break and my family and I traveled to Arizona. We visited with family and friends in Phoenix for a few days and then we drove up to see the Grand Canyon. Here are a few pictures from the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix and the Grand Canyon. As you can tell from the various cacti pictures I sort of had a love affair with photographing cactus, hehe.  Also please note that my pictures of the canyon in no way capture the vastness, the majesty, or the beauty of it, but I wanted to share them anyway. :) I am under the belief that you could go to the Grand Canyon every single day and it would look different depending on the lighting, time of year, weather, etc. I am in total awe of this place!

P.S. I am really sorry that I have been absent from blogging since November. I have had some personal things going on and I am also a busy high school senior. I am hoping that now some of these things have improved I will be able to devote more time to the blog and have a regular posting schedule! <3 Abs

One of my favorite pictures that I took of the canyon.
The saguaro cactus (pronounced "sah-war-oh"). It is the symbol of the state of Arizona.

Prickly pear cactus in bloom.
The cacti garden. I was sort of obsessed with cactus.
I can't remember what type of cactus this is, but I thought the delicate pink flowers were pretty.

My brother took this picture for me. He thought the cactus looked like a brain :)

This was on the way to the canyon when we stopped in Sedona. I was just blown away by the colors.

A view of the Colorado River.
